Victoria - The Garden State

In the middle of the 18th Century vegetable pioneers ventured to Australia, a land of opportunity that had been referred to them by their forfathers of the United Kingdom and Europe.

Arriving in Australia it was not long before these men settled in Victoria as they found the terrain and moderate climate ideal for successful Vegetable Growing.

Since the early 1900's, Victoria has provided many Vegetables to other States.

Victoria the Garden State

Early days saw a bulk shipments of Cauliflowers, Cabbage, Carrots, Parsnips, Beetroot, Lettuce, Onions, Rhubarb and other crops sent by Rail to Sydney.

In those days it took 2-3 days before those vegetables were available in Sydney grocers shops.
